Pretty 18th century cup & saucer

£42.00

I have no idea who made this charming hand painted cup and saucer but I know it was made between around 1780 and 1810 (because of the 'bute' shape and the fact that they haven't made an indent for the cup either).  In the background is an underpainted scribbley effect that I find pleasing and I also like the colour combination of the flowers and foliage very much, it's quite modern, not twee or cutesy.

It has no chips but does have some wear which I've tried to show, including a hairline crack in the centre of the saucer.  Still very useable and in good condition considering it's age.

Saucer: 14 cms diameter x 3 cms high (5.5 x 1.25 inches)
Cup: 8.5 cms wide x 6 cms high (3 x 2.25 inches)
Made in England
