Cross Bones Graveyard
19 April 2018
I like going for a wander. Especially around London. It has so many hidden gems and little areas and unless you are a black cab driver you will probably never know them all. So you can keep exploring and always see something new. That's good when you are a designer - well I think so anyway.
The other weekend I walked down a street I've not been down before and happened upon these amazing gates commemorating an unconsecrated graveyard for prostitutes and paupers from medieval times. Local people have made a quite moving & visually arresting memorial to the dead there. Every bar had necklaces, ribbons, flowers, toys and photos tied to them. There were candles burning and lots of letters attached. It's on Redcross Way near Borough Market. I googled it when I got home and put the link below.
